On 1st July, the EU introduced the IOSS scheme to 'simplify' taxes for goods imported to the EU and scrapped the exemption for tax on low value goods (under 22 EUR). I have NOT registered for the IOSS scheme at this time.
This means that goods to the EU will be sent 'Delivered Duties Unpaid (DDU)' and you will have to pay customs and duties before your package is released. These fees vary from country to country and I cannot advise on what these exact costs will be and it may also cause some delays on packages.
I have decided not to suspend shipping to the EU at this time, but will advise that if you would rather pay your fees up front so there are no nasty surprises, you can shop via my Etsy shop instead here - as a global marketplace, Etsy collect these taxes and all of the information needed is integrated with my Royal Mail account to ensure you don't pay tax twice.
I will update should my IOSS registration position change, but as my current EU sales are a low percentage of overall sales, I cannot justify the extra time and expense to submit quarterly tax returns for this scheme.
